Gold Foil Shampoo & Conditioner Label DIY

I feel like it has been years since I’ve shared a DIY project! Back in 2010, when I started TPS, I shared them monthly but soon phased them out. Now, I’m beginning to think I should bring back some seasonally; thoughts? This particular DIY project utilizes a Cricut, so you will need some cutting machine to execute this label.

This project came about when I looked for a more luxurious way of displaying shampoo and conditioner in our guest bathroom. With the holiday season on the horizon, we’ll be having plenty of company. So I was looking for an affordable way to upgrade our bare bathroom essentials without paying an arm and a leg. These metallic gold foil labels are the perfect mini update to bring a glam touch to any bathroom space. Not the mention, these could be a great DIY gift for the holiday season - hello festive hostess gift?

To make this as easy as possible, I’ve included a free SVG file of the pictured designs in addition to a few others for the holiday season ahead! Feel free to download these files. Should you choose to share them with family or friends or even in your own home, I’d love to be tagged or mentioned in your photos!

Gold Foil Label DIY

Start with any design featured above. Download the SVG file to your desktop or download folder (whichever you prefer.) Once the SVG file has been successfully downloaded, open the file in Cricut Design Space. You can upload files using the Canvas space. Click the “upload” icon in the lower left-hand corner and locate the downloaded SVG file. Once open, you can determine how large or small you’d like your labels. The screenshot below shows my preferred sizing for these olive green bottles.

Once your sizing is set, you can then weld your layers together for easy application. Once welded, print your project as-is - no mirroring needed since this is vinyl. Set your Cricut printer to vinyl on the setting and set your cutting pressure; normal was acceptable for this project. Once printed, you may find that this requires some pretty precise weeding. Take your time and go slowly on the letters or numbers with circles that aren’t attached (the O and 0). You’ll need transfer tape to pick up your assets. The gold foil vinyl I used for this project can be purchased here. You can also find all items used for this DIY or pictured within our guest bathroom below.

*Before applying the vinyl, ensure your bottle surface is clean and dust/lint-free! Any slight dust left behind will show under the vinyl!
