How to Create a Halloween Tablescape

Like most tablescapes, the key here is layering! Creating and building a focal point helps direct the eye toward the center of your table and adds interest and style. For this Halloween table, I focused on adding texture with the help of faux greenery, gauzy fabric, and a seasonal tablecloth. I arranged the tablecloth at an angle to expose some of the natural wood. This is also a great way to utilize a tablecloth that may be off-sized!

I began building up the centerpiece by playing with various heights. I utilized the scale of these small cream pumpkins to add some softness. For scale, I layered in iron and black candles, only adding pillar candles to some and leaving the rest exposed. I felt that this added an element of spookiness! Interspersed between these items are flameless candles. These are safe alternatives since they are at arm-level.

How to Set a Halloween place setting

I wanted to add a pop of color to the place setting since most of the tablescape was within a somber palette. A gold-plated flatware and deep yellow napkin made the place settings pop and feel a bit more fun. I had the matte black plates and raven plates on hand already and thought they paired perfectly with the other decor. Instead of wine why not opt for a fun and colorful cocktail. You could utilize a purple gin or add a touch of flare with dry ice!
