Must-Have Athleisure Clothing to Add to a Modern Wardrobe
This post was written in partnership with Reebok, all opinions are my own.
Without a doubt, sneakers and athleisure wear are some of my most worn clothing. This may not come as a surprise considering my casual approach towards fashion and daily dressing, but I find myself gravitating towards pieces that fall into this category. Now, being 21-weeks pregnant comfort is key in everything I wear. I’ve been lucky enough to fall back on a few tried-and-true favorites like these leggings, classic oversized denim jacket, and more recently winter hoodies. Keep reading to find my tips for shopping athleisure clothing and what pieces I recommend for rounding out your wardrobe.
Go for fit over tag size: This should be true in all aspects of your try-on experience! When I shop for athleisure wear I personally prefer an oversized fit on some pieces. This is true for sweaters, hoodies, or cotton tee-shirts. I personally grab a variety of sizes and try them all on for fit, and ignore the number or size. The key thing here is that you should feel comfortable!
Play with Print: While my personal style lends itself towards being more inline with a neutral color palette that shouldn’t hold you back from exploring prints or color! There are a ton of brands that cater to a wider range of patterns and shades that are equally as comfortable as the basic color palette.*
*I would recommend investing in 1 or 2 high-rise black leggings, you’ll get plenty of wear out of them.
Sneakers are Key: I’m picky about my footwear, and rarely sacrifice comfort for style, unless the occasion demands it. I love the throw back style of these Reebok Sole Fury sneakers, they’re incredibly comfortable and form to the foot well. I’m not sure I’d actually run in them, but they are great for everyday wear of gym cross-training. As far as sizing goes this style ran a bit large, could be the slight stretch in the fabric design. I’d recommend trying a 1/2 size down when ordering!
