Trend to Try | Orange Lips & Blue Liner

Ok, I'll admit I have a slight obsession with Cara Delevingne, but then again who doesn't. She certainly is the poster-girl for unique beauty, and can pull off any fashion with flawless execution. When I came across this backstage image from a few seasons ago, I knew it was a look I wanted to recreate. Generally, I keep my eye makeup very neutral and stick to a winged liner and creme-colored shadow; but, for some reason this particular look was calling my name. This combo has been steadily cruising along ever since its debut on the runways last year, and is still certainly one to try for Spring & Summer.

Products:

Eyes

Apply a pearl-white shadow to the lids and crease, preferably one without glitter and with a satin finish. Contour with a light chocolate brown, but don't over do it. This is just to give the eye a slight definition. Apply a thin black line to the top lid with liquid liner, I like MAC's Penultimate in rapid black. Line the bottom waterline with a white liner, next use a light blue to line the lower lashes. Finish look with a curl and apply a black mascara.

Cheeks

Keep the cheeks neutral with a matte bronzer to contour the cheeks {Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess}. Add a light peach blush to add a bit of glow to the apples, Benefit's Georgia is great for light-medium skin tones. This will give your face a sun kissed look that won't look over done.

Lips:

Start by lighting brushing your lips with a bit of foundation, this give you a neutral pallet that will allow your orange to pop. Line the lips with a similar hue, I used MAC's pro longwear in the shade What a Blast! Once the lips are lined use a lip brush to apply your lipstick, this will ensure a more precise edge and prevent bleeding. I opted for a sheer shade, Revlon's Tutti Frutti. For a more bold lip I would recommend Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick #750.

Highlight

Apply a warm toned highlight to the top of the cheek bones, ridge of the nose and finally just a bit on the cupids bow.
