Stripes at Sunset
This weekend was a surreal mix of emotions and I can't not start this post without sharing that I got engaged! I'm sure those of you who follow along on Instagram saw the post on Saturday. I'm still a ball of emotions are clearly walking on cloud 9. I'll be sharing all the deets on how he asked in a post later this week so stay tuned. I thought I'd share the look from the day with you since I dress was one I've been getting a ton of wear out of.
Desk to Drinks with Banana Republic
If there's one thing that's changed since moving to San Francisco it's the pace of life after work. Whether I’m heading home after a long day or meeting the boy for drinks, what I wear needs to be transitional.
Outfit Planning 101
For those of us who don't spend our mornings leisurely waking up and sipping coffee from bed, outfit planning is normally reserved for the last 15 minutes before running out the door. As a self-proclaimed born again morning person, outfit planning is not only a time saver, it's one of the best habits to get into.
Oversized Elements
The mornings are much chiller but, normally warm up in the late afternoons. One combination I've been wearing a lot lately is a dress/skirt worn under a heavier jacket.
Springtime Essentials
Spring is officially in season! I'm so ready to get out of the drab and dismal weather we've been having and enjoy a little sunshine. Luckily, I have a few upcoming projects and a handful of mini trips to fill my calendar for the next month. I've been pretty good with not purchasing any new clothing, so I'm finally starting to put together a list of things that may wind up in my closet! For your own shopping trip inspiration I've put together a (pinable) graphic of my favorites for Spring 2016!
Back to Basics, Spring Beauty
Happy first day of Spring! Just as the seasons change so should your beauty routine. If theres one thing I've learned through the years its the importance of paying attention to your skins needs. Spring means more time outdoors and the need to keep your skin moisturized is a must. My skin tends to be very sensitive to face washes, especially those with acne fighting additives. For that reason I prefer to use brands that sell products that are gentle on skin and exclude harsh chemicals.
Casual Friday, Here Comes the Sun
Ask me if I’m excited for the weekend and I’ll graciously reply with an ABSOLUTELY! The past few days have been oddly warm, especially after such a crazy few weeks of rain. Of course, I choose the one weekend when the weather is supposed to be 70 degrees to head up to Tahoe. On the other hand I’ll be taking a long weekend with a few close friends to relax and enjoy a little time off, so who can complain about that?
5 Tips for A Productive Work Week
As a twenty-something with a full time job and blog time is of the essence. In fact I'd go as far as to say that time management is both my strength and weakness. Over the years I've implemented little steps to make sure i make the most of my time in the mornings. Waking up around 5:30am has gracefully forced me into becoming a morning person, but let me tell you I was NOT always like that. In high school my mom would practically have to drag me out of bed while my brother honked the horn in the driveway to get me to hurry up. So yeah, me becoming a little ray of sunshine that early was a shock to both me and my family. Since I do work with such a tight timeline in the morning there's several things I do the day/night before to make things go as smoothly as possible.
