Is there anything better than opening up a brand new pair of boots? Call me crazy, but I’m not sure there is! For me, winter fashion is all about the staples, and a great pair of booties is an essential part of that. Lately, I’ve been seeing so many new styles pop up making it nearly impossible to choose just one. Aside from restraining myself from buying up the Nordstrom shoe department I’ve rounded up my top five favorite styles of the season.

The Top-5 Affordable Ankle Boots of The Season

White Leather Ankle Boots: This is my number one pick of the season! I love the 70s vibe that this style gives off and the lower boot length makes it a modern take on the trendy style. A stacked heel makes these super easy to run around in, while a side-zipper give extra wiggle room for a cozy sock (which is much needed in these cooler months.)

Velvet Boot s: Velvet was on the rise this year and aside from pleated skirts, dresses, and handbags, booties were a standout. Deeper shades of ink blue, silk grey, and deep purple all were major standouts. My favorite shade of the lot has got to be the light grey tones. It’s such an unexpected color, but pairs perfectly with a combat style boot.

Printed Boots - I love a good print, especially one that isn’t too seasonal! Leopard, floral, and check booties are among my favorite print styles for ankle boots. These act as the perfect starting point (or statement point) of an outfit. My go-to of the bunch is a short haired leopard boot, the print itself is a timeliness one, but one that every closet needs!

Sock Bootie: Part knit, part heel, this bootie combination is a winning combo. I love this style when worn with a pair of straight leg jeans or wide leg culottes.

Embellished - Pearl embellished heels show off a very Gucci-esque look, not to mention they’ll run you a fraction of the price. I've also seen a ton of Swarovski embellishments, which is perfectly suited for the holiday season!
