Summer Clearance Sales To Shop Online Now!
July marks one of the most shoppable months of the year thanks to 4th of July savings and the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (see my picks here). It’s a great way to stock up for the back to school season as well as sift through for pre-fall savings. One of my favorite ways to shop summer clearance sales is to make a list of items missing from my current wardrobe. The idea, in theory, seems simple, but implementing this method can save you hundreds and prevent merchandise returns or buyers remorse. For me, I prefer to shop for transitional items that will take me from mid-summer through early fall. These typically fall into the category of, outerwear, casual basics, and denim.

Denim Clearance Sales
For someone like me that works from home, denim is a necessity! I’d say 90% of the time I’m reaching for a pair of denim to wear, especially if I know I’ll be in be working from my office or running errands. For this reason, I prefer high-to-mid rise denim, some of my go-to brands are FRAME, Madewell (best fit ever!), AG Jeans, and Free People. When shopping for denim amongst clearance items, I look for classic fits that I can get plenty of wear out of. This time of year I opt for skinny jeans (great for boots), kick flares, or textured styles.

Outerwear
This style of clothing is probably a no-brainer to most people, but when you'r sorting through rack after rack of cute “summer” clothing it’s hard to reach for a coat or jacket. Not to mention, when the weather is close to 90 degrees outside! Normally, retailers don’t typically put out outerwear on sale during this time, but every once and awhile you can spot a great find! My tip is to invest in styles that you know you’ll wear. For example, if you live on the west coast chances are a lighter form of outerwear will get more use than say a heavily faux fur coat will. If you can find an anorak, trench, or classic blazer it’s worth the investment!

Casual Basics
Another must for summer clearance sales is neutral wardrobe basics. These could be everything from cotton t-shirts, sweatshirts, and socks. Most of these items may already live in your closet, but in what condition are they in? If they have visible signs of wear I would consider a replacement! You can normally find plenty of these in online sales during this time of year. I make a point to pick up one or two cotton tank during my clearance shopping.
