Are Culottes the new Gaucho Pants?
It's not a secret that I am a fan of culottes, both roomy and figure flattering the cut has become an instant staple in my closet. When the style first debuted last year I could help but, think, "wait, aren't these just gauchos rebranded?" If the same thought crossed your mind then we're certainly on the same wavelength. The funny thing about gauchos is I could not stand the style! I may have dabbled with a pair or two during high school but, quickly the style became a fast-fashion buy that was nearly see-through and quite frankly, cheap.
Now, some 10-odd years later the gaucho pant has become a minimalist street-style must-have, also known as the culotte. Whatever they're called I'm a fan and can't help but think of how fashion rebrands and creates styles that aren't actually so new.
