Minimalistic Approach

For years I’ve been attempting to minimize my wardrobe in the hopes of streamlining my day-to-day attire. In actuality my style at work and on the weekends generally consists of denim, loose knits and lots of layer (thank you SF weather). Up until recently I had been going through the motions, wearing the same go-to looks for work and feeling a bit uninspired by the outcome. I decide to make a conscious effort to start challenging myself to incorporate new pieces into my daily attire that I normally wouldn’t wear, or would reserve for the weekends.

The first piece that landed a coveted spot in my closet was this long white vest. I had actually pinned several images of a Paris street style blogger sporting a similar style a few months back and knew I could easily create a look with items I already had in my closet. I know what you’re probably thinking, “it’s just a vest, nothing fancy”. However, that's the thing with minimalist style; (and neutral colors) since they are so easy to wear finding a look that makes people say, “wow, I love that,” is often harder than it seems.

Take for instance minimalist Instagram accounts, how can you not envy their take on effortless fashion? Any who, I wanted to be able to create a look that I could wear to both the office and out with friends, so what goes better than black? Nothing. A simple burnout, black razor back and black denim were the answers. Paired with a pointed flatform, it was simple, minimal, and totally on track with the less is more approach.
