October Beauty Favorites

This month was all about incorporating new products and streamlining my what is in my beauty bag. If your like me and semi-addicted to watching YouTube Beauty Gurus, then I'm sure you've heard about the L'Oreal Paris Riche collection. I've literally been looking everywhere for this line so when I came across the full collection at Target I pretty much had a panic attack. In all honesty I could have bought at least six shades, but decided to rein myself in a bit and test a few colors first.

I ended up deciding on Blake, a bold true red with a slight orange undertone. Zoe, a deep, dramatic red perfect for fall. And last but, certainly not least Julianne, a dusty nude with a subtle pink undertone. Overall, the color is very true to what you see. The formula is creamy and matte, which can get a bit dry is a balm or liner isn't applied first. I'm definitely up for trying a few more of the nude/pink range.

It's no secret that I deal with the troubles of oily skin. So applying a finishing powder after my foundation is a must. I hate the look of 'cakey' makeup so finding a powder that is sheer enough to avoid this, while also setting my foundation is a challenge! I've used a few different products, but had yet to find something sheer enough until I came across Bobbi Brown's sheer finish pressed powder. While the coverage is certainly buildable, it wears very light on skin, and is more along the lines of a veil than a powder.

SKIN

I've been trying to stay true to my new year's resolution and be more conscious about my skin. To keep my on the right path I've been trying out a ton of different skin products. This month a product that really impressed me was StriVectin-AR pore minimizer and refiner. This. product. is. the business! It's incredibly light-weight and glides on smoothly. I use it twice a day, once in the morning and another at night, right after washing my face. It's been working wonders underneath my makeup and does double duty as primer/pore minimizer. Aside from making my skin noticeably smoother, the pores in my T-zone have shown a slight reduction in visibility!

FRAGRANCE

Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black has been my go-to perfume for months! The smell is a beautiful combination of rich sandalwood, light violet, and warm vanilla. It's definitely a deeper fragrance, and if you prefer "sweet" perfumes this probably isn't the scent for you. I actually purchased the rollerball on a whim before Summer and slowly but, surely I have been going through it. I've also heard great things about the white version, do you use either of the Nirvana line?
