The holiday season brings an amusement of festivities, fabulous food, and plenty of celebrations. However, the holidays can also bring a harsh chill, leaving you and your skin in its dry and chapped path. The inevitable effects of the season can hit us hard if we don't properly prepare our skin and beauty routines. Aside from just switching to a thicker moisturizer, there are several skin-saving tips I use to create a consistent, healthy holiday glow.

During the winter months, I battle combination skin and those pesky dry spots. To combat this effect and keep my skin texture consistent, I like to incorporate a toner into my beauty prep. When applied to your T-zone, toners can help even out inconsistencies and create a better base for makeup application. This season, I'm treating my skin with Pixi Skintreats Glow Tonic exfoliating toner. The solution is great for all skin types, and it really promotes a brighter and clearer complexion. To apply, I use a cotton round and tip toner to release a bit of product. As of late, I have been applying this in the morning before beginning my beauty routine.

After using the Pixi toner, I follow with a light-coverage BB cream by Pacifica. I actually came across this product when I purchased a larger gift set during a recent Target trip. Normally, I would use something with a bit more coverage, but this product really delivers a gorgeous natural finish. The product itself is very lightweight and feels more like a moisturizer than a BB cream. Another great thing about this product is that it uses shade-matching technology, so finding a shade isn’t a problem.

With these few products, I’ve been able to get a jump-start on winterizing my skin-care routine. After all, a healthy holiday glow begins with a clean complexion!

How are you combating winter’s chill with your beauty routine?
