Greek Goddess Halloween Tutorial
If you've been following along this week, you'll know that I posted this look, featuring a seriously golden up-do. As promised, I'm going to share the tutorial behind the makeup look.
I've always been huge fan of halloween, and have a blast putting together costume ideas- the more unique the better! Although, I have done the whole "toga" look while in college, I thought I'd revisit the look in full costume form and leave the twisted bed-sheet out. To achieve this makeup look you'll need a few key products:
Gold or bronze eye shadow (with high pigment)
Liquid Eyeliner
Neutral Lip Shade
Bronzer
Highlighter
Face:
Start with a clean washed skin, prep, prime and throughly conceal with your foundation of choice. Lately, I've been loving the DIOR star foundation, it goes on incredibly smooth and the coverage is fantastic!
Eyes:
This look is just as much about the eyes as it is the hair. Start by priming the eyes with a neutral primer, I used Urban Decay's Primer Potion in the shade Sin (any neutral with do!). Next I added my base color to the entire lid, since this is going over the entire eye opt for a matte shade in a golden hue, I used MAC's Butterscotch.
Your next shade will be creating your definition and accentuating the wing of the eye. Choose a satin med-dark brown shade with golden undertones, I used Expresso from MAC. Using a tapered eyeshadow brush really buff the color into the outer crease, working your way in toward the center of the lid.
To add lightness and shimmer to the center of the eye use a shimmer/glitter golden eyeshadow. I used Trick from the Urban Decay Naked3 palette. Using a stiff shadow brush apply to color to the center of the lid working your way towards the inner corner. Using a smudge brush apply under the lower lashes, and line.
Once both eyes are complete use a liquid liner to apply a cat eye. You can also apply a pencil liner to the waterline to add more drama to the look.
Curl lashes, and add one-two coats of black mascara.
Cheeks:
Using a angled bronzer brush apply a matte bronzer along the cheek bones, and around the perimeter of the face, and bend. Once skin has been contoured, use a highligher or illuminator along the top of the cheekbones, ridge of nose, and cupids bow. I used NARS' The Multiple in South Beach.
The Redken giveaway winner will be announce tomorrow :)

Birdie
